Artist Statement

I am a landscape painter influenced by concepts of stillness, grandeur, sublimity and awe around nature. My work considers the wildly fast pace of contemporary western society and observes how landscapes are perceived in the contemporary setting. Through the process of creating landscapes at different levels of speed and detail, I aim to mirror the national issue of hurry, and how this effects our interaction with nature.
