Hi! I’m a Colombian visual artist based in Edinburgh. I love mixing illustration, design, and a curiosity for all things human.
I like trying out different formats, from print to digital, always looking for ways to connect with people, start conversations, and build community through art.
Stories that Escape the Page is a project born from the need to make visible the emotions, experiences, and human consequences behind contemporary migration. This project gives form to untold stories, to silences, to the ache of loss, and to the quiet resilience of those who carry on.
Migration is not merely a political issue or a passing headline, it is a deeply human reality that has long shaped our histories and cultures. It is a powerful force for transformation, both personal and collective.
In a global political landscape increasingly shaped by xenophobic narratives and fear-based rhetoric, it is more urgent than ever to tell these stories. Migration is often stripped of its human dimension and reduced to numbers, borders, or threats. But behind every journey is a person, with dreams, griefs and memories that deserve to be seen.
This illustration is my tribute to the Ocean, inspired by the flowing beauty of a jellyfish. I wanted to create a universe within it. To weave in the connection between sea, land, and sky, I included vines that twist and grow like underwater tendrils and birds. At the heart of it all, a human figure floats, surrounded by these elements. The phrase 'Born of the Ocean' is woven into the piece as a reminder that we all come and are part of the sea.
