About

My art practice combines my love for fashion illustration and the magazine with the experience of growing up amongst women, as well as my writing about the city of Florence. I explore the connection and similarities between the idealised pedestaled sculptures in Florence and the often contrived editorial fashion shoots. I work as an illustrator and printmaker on paper, which gives the work a sense of transience and looseness. Having studied the movement of the human body, I subsequently try to convey that movement with ink on paper, working quickly and deliberately. I am concerned with the use of colour, allowing each palette to tell a different story in each work.

My Graduate Show Installation presents a collection of drawings and prints titled 'The Spring Collection', a nod to a fashion collection inspired by the month of Spring in which it was created. The display cabinets present the process and influences: the city of Florence, and the women in my family.
