About the Artist
I create paintings working primarily in ink that use imagery from live webcams, drone photography and platforms like Google Earth. My practice explores what it means to observe from above, a perspective that has shifted from a spectacular novelty to something rapidly consumed through technological systems. Influenced by contemporary discussions around surveillance and image culture, my practice questions how visibility is constructed and experienced.
I am particularly drawn to aerial images that contain imperfections such as light distortion, unusual shadows and digital glitches, as well as degraded or overused technological imagery. These flaws interrupt the image, making it difficult to fully grasp what is being looked at. I’m interested in that moment where the image begins to stop functioning as something recognisable and becomes more uncertain.
