Textures of the Subconscious – Exploring The Stages Of Sleep Through Contemporary Popular Music is a musical interpretation of the neurological concept of the stages of sleep. The project takes on the format of an E.P. consisting of four tracks, each representative of a particular stage. My aim is to create traditionally structured popular music with a joint theme of sleep and dreams.
Asleep is a conceptually driven dream pop/indie E.P. that sonically and lyrically interprets the human sleep cycle. It includes four tracks corresponding to distinct phases, each translating neurological and emotional states into immersive textures, melodies, and narratives. The stages of sleep corresponding to relevant tracks are: N1 - It's Over, N2 - Awake forever, N3 - Lucky and REM - Killing time.
This project examines how genre-specific production techniques, harmonic approaches, and lyricism can evoke the shifting consciousness of the sleeping mind, offering an interpretive bridge between neuroscientific understanding and artistic expression.
