Design and Memory Journey

Negotiating the Fluid Boundaries of Space and Identity

Emerging from a critical inquiry into the timing of spatial design within a conservation and heritage context, the project takes shape as an architectural monument that reframes the past for contemporary use while opening a dialogue with the future. Drawing on the site's existing design language, the intervention transforms ancient spatial codes into a living building that serves as both an Architectural Museum and a Conservation Workshop.

Connecting space by Material Library, ensuring visual coherence and practical flexibility. Movement flows effortlessly across programs, allowing the eye and body to engage in a continuous dialogue on memory, preservation, and space.

Footnotes for the Soul

Within the Reference Library, the reading area is shaped by both spatial intimacy and the precise conditions required for preservation. Bespoke furniture merges seamlessly with the surrounding bookcases, its curves and wraps mirroring the quiet cadence of the room. Materials and detailing are conceived as a shared time trace, a tactile archive that embodies the library’s layered history.

The space is not limited to solitary reading. It invites collective contemplation. Alcoves and shared tables encourage quiet exchange, allowing moments of reflection to evolve into conversation, and solitude to dissolve into communal thought.
