Approaching my practice delicately, I attempt to untangle my own world positioning as an artist from, living and working in Edinburgh, Scotland. I work predominantly within film, spoken word, collage and sculpture, reflecting on themes of gender, class and war. Recently, I have been working through concepts of the ‘masculine within the feminine’ My work is concerned with the scar tissue that inhabits a land after conflict and the individual and wider societal implications this has on communities, and our race as a whole. I am exploring how humans manipulate land through fragmentation, borders, and policing and how complex human emotion plays a vital role in these politics.
