In my dissertation, I explored how to change the way information is filtered at an individual level to promote social justice, particularly from a gender equality perspective. I tried to rebuild the way people exchange information in the Internet age, promoting a model where relationships come before information.
Through this project, I encourage people to problematise their own personal experiences into a theme activity and become the initiator. By organising such event, people can gather their friends around them to form a small group that provides emotional support and brings together multiple sources of first-hand information.
Such an approach brings us closer to the source of information and encourages us to understand information through people rather than judging people by the one-sided information we obtain. In this context, we no longer rely on algorithms and each person actively becomes a filter of information for others.
