Ground thorn, watermelon device

The juice of the watermelon is red, and if it is pierced, the red juice will be like bleeding from the human head.

Who killed the watermelon

The behavior of the woman in the video is a small worship in Taoism. This is the victim's fantasy, the fantasy that the other person will let them go, hoping that it is all fake, hoping that a miracle will happen. In addition, in psychology, when the victim is in great pain, he will separate a personality in his mind to see the injured himself, because the body can no longer bear the pain.

Who killed the watermelon? Video

In the background of the video, the voices of two women talk about gossip, which leads to two stories, one is the news of a three-year-old child with a needle in his body, and the other is the movie of a wife killing her husband with a nail.

Artist Statement

Ye Yao, an artist dedicated to capturing motion, installation and behaviour and expressing ideas through video.

My goal is to bring the audience closer to understanding the psychological and social implications behind the featured behaviour.

Her most recent works use watermelons instead of human organs to express feelings. It emphasizes the feelings of pain and injury. This reveals the diversity of human nature, as well as the physical behavioural states of abusers and victims, which should be valued.

My work revolves around themes of health, healing, physical and social contradictions, and aims to heal wounds and challenge traditional prejudices.
