My art explores emotion, intimacy, and the intersection between humanity and technology. Over my five years at art school, I have delved deeply into the realm of portraiture, using it as a means to capture the complexities of human expression and connection. This year, my focus has shifted towards examining intimacy within relationships, both human and artificial. Through a collaborative dance with artificial intelligence, I've embarked on a journey of creation, melding the boundaries between human emotion and technological innovation. Each piece reflects this symbiotic relationship, a testament to the ever-evolving landscape of human expression in the digital age.
In my recent work, I have been utilizing the power of DALL-E to generate reference photos for my paintings using word prompts centred around themes of intimacy. This process involves a dynamic interplay where I reinput my paintings back into the search engine, allowing it to adapt and abstract the images further. This back-and-forth dialogue continues until I achieve the desired outcome, blending human creativity with artificial intelligence to explore new dimensions of artistic expression.
Additionally, I have been experimenting with digital laser engraving and found postcards to delve into the concept of temporality. By combining these techniques, I aim to create a dialogue between the past and the present, capturing the ephemeral nature of time within the context of my work.
