Bio

My practice is focused on the subversion of nature as a refuge or peaceful place. Drawing from animistic ideas of folk religions, combined with pareidolia, my work ascribes a consciousness to features of nature by giving them human faces or body parts. These plant-human hybrids serve as a representation of my inner world, creating my own symbolism representing cycles of generational trauma. Through immersive sculpture and installation-based work, I aim to create within the audience a sense of quiet unease, the feeling of being perceived by these almost-human entities with their ambiguous intentions.
