Choreoscape

“Choreoscape” draws inspiration from Scotland’s dynamic landscapes, capturing the orchestrated harmony of nature’s dance alongside the human form. Each artwork serves as a snapshot of the intricate choreography unfolding across rugged mountains, sweeping moors, tranquil forests, and the flow of the sea and Lochs, subtly hinting at our movements as beings within this world.

I invite viewers to delve into the ever-changing tapestry of movement and transformation in the natural world. Guided by the principles of play, looking to uncover new perspectives and forge deeper connections with the world around us. Through this exploration, experience the beauty and complexity of our own bodies and environments through each object.

In my artistic pursuit, I seek to transcend boundaries between the human form and the natural landscape. Drawing inspiration from the dynamic interplay of movement and the rich tapestries of Scotland’s terrain, my work seeks the essence of this union.

Through metal, photography, and mixed media, I explore and craft visual and textural experiences. Each piece is an ode to the fluidity of existence, weaving together elements of nature and human expression in a harmonious dance.

I invite viewers on a journey of discovery, guided by the principles of play, to immerse themselves in a multisensory exploration of self and surroundings. It is through this exploration that we may uncover new perspectives, forging deeper connections with the world around us and with each other.

Fascinated by the endless possibilities that life offers, I seek to infuse my work with a sense of excitement, inviting viewers to contemplate the preciousness of life, our surroundings, and the individuals who inhabit our world. Delving into the intricacies of human interaction with our environment, I aim to evoke emotions and provoke introspection.

Exploring the significance of what we hold dear, whether it be cherished objects or intangible moments, inviting viewers to engage with my creations as if in a childhood playground—fostering a tactile exploration of form and texture.

Through a foundation of traditional silversmithing techniques such as Raising, Spinning, Engraving, and Chasing, I embark on an exploration of exquisite materials, predominantly silver, copper, and gilding metal. I delight in the journey of experimentation and discovery, playfully manipulating these materials to reveal the innate excitement that pulses through our everyday lives.

Through combinations of textile and silver, and photography techniques, along with the traditional technical craft, I aim to extend new combinations.

In my art, objects come alive, dancing with energy and vitality, fostering a dialogue with the viewer. My art encourages us to rethink our perceptions and embrace the essence of what truly matters in our lives.
