My work is heavily inspired by my experience of growing up in East Lothian, I have a deep admiration for the beauty of the natural landscape that surrounds me there.
Through my illustrations I aim to explore narrative and storytelling through location and setting. Therefore, I aspire to work in areas such as background painting, concept art and storyboarding. I have previously worked as a concept artist and storyboard artist for a film shown at a BAFTA recognised short film festival and participated in multiple Disney TV Animation sessions.
My love for storytelling also leads me to be interested in illustrating for picture books. Throughout my final year of studying I have created a picture book highlighting East Lothians hardworking communities throughout it's history.
From its relevance in concept art, storyboards and background art to the frame by frame hand drawn sequences, illustration is the thread that runs throughout my animation. To have a base knowledge of fundamental illustration concepts such as shape, space, colour and form was key for me to create my animation.
