The art hub center is designed to purposely address issues of young people in Haddington. These issues are focus on the structural causes of anti-social behavior. The hub aims to support young people by providing intergenerational activities by encouraging them the most in creative activities that could help them find their interest in art and design.
The project aims to provide a range of activities, which will help them to develop more positive ways of communicating and to acquire a wider range of positive social skills. The aim is not to simply manage or contain their behavior, but rather to understand and uncover the activating events, which have often caused conflict in their lives and subsequent behavioral patterns. The hub will consist of a social space, where local young people can gather in the café or during workshops. Training and employment opportunities are also done through volunteering that is focused on café and selling artworks. It is a flexible space for young people as well as older people, including space for creative and physical activities.
