Bio
goodluckmillion (aka Good Luck Million, aka gl100000) is an experimental pop producer, poet, musician and artist from Finland, whose sounds and looks derive primarily from their signatural yet homemade multimedia craft and experimental popular production style. As a interdisciplinary worker and a multi-instrumentalist, the young avant-gardener relies on inventiveness and innovation without shying away from their roots and references; like the golden age of emo and TV-drama.
Highly thematic aesthetically; visually and lyrically, goodluckmillion paints poetic pictures with millions of meanings. Creative combinations and/or contrasts are all over the texts and beats, and while the lively textures, vivid drops with rap hooks and pop melodies reek of genre, this art is perhaps best described by the montag-y methodology inspired by its modern contexts: Experimental Popular Music, or alternative mainstream of some sort.
The glm sound encapsulates a D-I-Y attitude, bedroom production, and varial, casual, field recording sessions across mediums. The many collaborative moments and memories are documented in, by, and for the Million Montage, a multiphaseted international network of creatives; an ’Absolutely Inclusive, Artistically Interartistic Social Experience / Experiment’.
Furthermore, their frequent collective and communal work aspires to encourage inclusivity and involvement, particularly via accessible modern technologies, consequently blurring the lines between performers and audiences; artists and listeners; consumers and producers. This, along with their trailblazing composition and production choices, culture-gazing first-hand commentary, and self-referential artistry suggest of a postmodern, or perhaps a postpopular take on the future trajectory of culture, arts, and music…
the sky EP
the sky is the third and penultimate installation of an EP-series by goodluckmillion, The first two were released respectively in 2022 and 2023, leaving the finale to be announced still. This EP-series documenting their development as an up-and-coming artist was set up as to experiment with different concepts on each one to show new sides of their artistry as well as a challenge to keep innovating the craft whilst maintaining a signatural overall sound. For this EP, the concept was ‘the natural’, more specifically, namely, the sky, which was represented by utilising acoustic elements, instruments as well as samples of ‘everyday’ sounds, in an otherwise modern, mostly electronic and technological musicmaking environment. In this way, each piece offers a different take on how this contrasting mix could be interpreted and realised. A force of nature is the gravity, and, accordingly, the EP’s general narrative depicts a fall; from flight to plummet, coming in terms with one's true self; from dark to light & through the grey, all the while coming down to earth.

Million Montage: From Pieces To Pieces (Original Poster)
Million Montage: From Pieces To Pieces is a participatory composition project where the music is created entirely from external creative input. I approached this by hosting sessions with a musicmaking set-up in public spaces to collect and record creative sonic inputs from as many people passing by as possible. These bits of input were then used to create four new original musical pieces.
