Joe Haynes

Bio

Joe Haynes is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter originally from Cambridgeshire. After developing a largely choral and Classical background, he began to experiment with DAWs and production. In 2021, he released his debut EP Dreamland, and in July 2022 he released the single 'Out of my Head'. Both featured on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, both as 'Track of the Week' and the former's single 'Solar' was presented on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Throughout the course of his final year at the ECA, he developed different ways of incorporating ambient and unintentional sound into folk and singer-songwriter contexts, looking at artists like Florist and Hana Stretton. The result was the EP intricate.

On top of his folk work, he has also composed for Edinburgh University Chamber Choir and St. Mary's Schola Cantorum, with The Swansong (2023) and Lux Aeterna (2023) respectively.
