Project description

Art of nature, whether observed directly or interpreted through creative expression, can profoundly benefit mental health. It possesses the ability to alleviate stress, cultivate mindfulness and instil a sense of connection to the outdoors.

After extensive research into colour psychology within the realm of bedding and interiors, I have prioritized calming blues and crisp whites. These tones not only evoke a sense of calm reminiscent of clear skies and calm waters but also contribute to uplifting the mood of the observer.

Utilising my textiles skills I have combined hand dying with embroidery and digital printing to create a collection that maximises tranquillity. Central to my designs are intricate yet subtle patterns, informed by thorough research into prevalent bedding styles. These designs aim to provide sensory stimulation, enriching the tactile experience of the bedding and contributing to a heightened sense of comfort and well-being.

My work seeks to harness the inherent therapeutic qualities of nature through beautifully crafted designs inspired by the natural world.
