A speculative design project that explores a series of artefacts that are used to experience digital data assets collected in a Transhumanist future. The narrative of my work is based on the idea that through mass data collection, we will preserve our lives as ‘digital data assets’. These Assets will be passed down to our families through our future will. This in theory, would create a more insightful, richer and more contextualised narrative of our lives, fulfilling the Transhumanist desire of using technology to radically extend our lives. However, this work explores a scenario beyond this, where we surpass the original incentive of owning these digital assets for sentimental value, but instead we find economic reward through collecting, trading and selling interesting and rare digital memories. This type of personal data will become a new form of digital collectible, or a digital trading commodity viewed and experienced through “ Memento Mori”
