Symbiosis: Animals and Cities
Since ancient times, humans have built cities with stone and concrete to meet their needs. Yet, in both historic and modern cities, there are other residents -- animals that share our urban spaces.
Chenxi Sun's work asks: can these animals also be considered 'citizens'? As she walked through the streets of various cities, she recorded the most common animals and brought them back into her illustrations. Here, they are no longer small and overlooked but have become the masters of the city.
This work aims to challenge human-centred thinking and encourage a reevaluation of our coexistence with other species.
