Lost In The Moment

Lost In The Moment is a self-directed project that delves into the realm of personal healing and self-growth through two paintings, Inerte (Lifeless) and Nel Momento (In the Moment). The project aims to depict my personal emotional and mental state at two different points in my healing journey.

Inerte reflects a difficult phase of my personal life. It was a time when I felt emotionally disconnected and struggled to find a sense of belonging. The painting aims to convey the feeling of constantly trying to blend into the background, hoping to go unnoticed.

Nel Momento portrays the significance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence in an individual’s life. It aims to convey the message that being attuned to oneself and managing emotions effectively can lead to inner peace in any given environment. The painting is a visual representation of the journey towards self-discovery and self-love.

Amor Proprio

If Lost in The Moment represents two mental states at two different moments of my life, the project Amor Proprio (Self love) sits in the middle of these two paintings by portraying what allowed me to get to this point of inner peace. The project resulted in three paintings, Sapore di Amore (Taste of Love, A Passo col Tempo' (In Step with Time) and 'The Power of Surrendering'.

Sapore di Amore, portrays the importance of self-love in leading a meaningful and satisfying life. It aims to shed light on the significance of being mindful of one’s emotions, understanding them, and experiencing them fully.

A Passo col Tempo aims to illustrate the remarkable effects of meditation on our experience of time. Through meditation, individuals can learn to use their time more efficiently and meaningfully, leading to a perception of time as stretching out.

Created also in response to the theme of Gravity given by the Batsford Prize competition, The Power of Surrendering is a painting that aims to explore the similarities between gravity and life. Paper planes will fall on the ground due to gravity, there is no doubt, in the same way, things will happen if they are supposed to. Through this project I hope to remind people that by letting go and embracing the natural flow of life, we can alleviate unnecessary anxiety and fear, and find peace and clarity in the present moment.

The Art of Noticing

The Art Of Noticing delves into the exploration of intricate and fascinating patterns found in nature while exploring the beauty of noticing and appreciating small things. The process of making this painting allowed me to slow down, take the time I needed and appreciate every moment of the process.

Zinghera Del Mare

Zinghera del Mare (Sea Gipsy) is a portrait I created after I visited the Moken Village, in the northern rim of the Andaman Sea, 60 kilometers west from Thailand’s mainland. The Moken Sea Gypsies use to navigate around the islands and stay in different bays, yet nowadays they are permanently located on Surin Tai. It was amazing to see the striking beauty and contentment of the inhabitants of this island. One girl in particular stood out with her singular beauty and strength, despite her young age.

Heart At Peace

Heart At Peace is a biographical piece representing the idea that weaknesses and defects can become part of one's beauty once they are accepted and seen as strengths, building up one's uniqueness.

Embracing The Moment

Collaboration with Aner Wang. Aner and I have collaborated on numerous projects in the past and I have always enjoyed our creative teamwork. Recently, we decided to embark on a new project together here at ECA. Our vision was to create a series of three paintings that would explore the theme of hugs. However, we wanted to take this theme in a broader sense and focus on words such as connection and embrace.

Aner and I have a natural inclination to explore complex and profound topics in our art. But for this project, we decided to take a more spontaneous approach. We wanted to let go of our usual planning and allow the creative process to guide us. So, we began working together on three wood boards, with me painting on the left side and Aner on the right.

At first, it was challenging to allow the other person to draw in their space while maintaining the flow of our own work. But as we continued to paint, we found that the process itself became the real embrace of the moment. In the end, we were able to create a powerful representation of the connection between our art and ourselves.
