PAINTING TO PORTRAY THE CHILDHOOD TRAUMA & RECONSTRUCT CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
The theme of THE SENTIMENTAL LITTLE THING is to construct unity to convey intimate feelings and represent the vulnerability of my inner space or inner child as an adult who is still tracing back or trapped in some sentimental childhood memories.
This drawing project tells the story about reconstruct my childhood through re- constructing fragmented dolls, which is also the reconstruction of my identity. I have come into contact with Peter Pan syndrome, reflecting on why I can never truly grow into a self-consistent adult and attempting to represent the retrospective and reconstruction of my childhood in the form of reconstructing the most frequently played objects of childhood, as well as the elimination of some previously occurring traumas that cannot be directly expressed.

THE POETRY ANTHOLOGY CONVEYS THE THEME OF LOVE, FANTASY & ILLUSION
The title of the poetry anthology is the Chinese pronunciation of the word “Lover“. This poetry collection is a love letter written to a fictional lover who does not exist, expressing a fictional narrative of love through a romanticized poetic visual design and poetic language.
As Calvino mentioned in his work The Nonexistent Knight, “If a girl has had enough of every man who exists, her only remaining desire could be for a man who doesn’t exist at all” So, this poetry anthology is a depiction of the absence of fictional romantic love in reality, contemplating the meaning and authenticity of love from an existentialist perspective.
A series of drawings to visualize 4 stages of love, from Dreamy Fantasy to Conflicts to Fading Love to Disenchanted Reality, referring to the concept of “All Phenomena Are Illusion“ from The Diamond Sutra and visually inspired by the concept of "The Origins Of Love" in The Symposium by Plato.

the left one is the intaglio printing work, the right one is charcoal and watercolor on paper.

The art book reflects on my relationship with my family and personal reaction and reinterpretation based on the concept of "home" and tells the narrative of the influence of family relationships, the fragmentation and reconstruction of childhood and identity.

This painting with symbolic meaning aims to convey the concept of “vacancy”, which reflects the nihilistic tendencies and the existentialistic tendencies.
To bring critical thinking about “meaningless and meanings” the work is the number “0“, also can be seen as a piece of meat with the hole in the middle part, this part is vacant.
